ABOUT PACIFIC RIM

Pacific Rim began in 2006 as an educational collaboration between Tama Art University in Tokyo and the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA. This event marks their 14th collaboration. Design students from both universities explore global and local themes, ranging from traditional Japanese arts and crafts to issues related to aging and the role of design and innovative solutions. The Pacific Rim exchanges continue to be an important element for the Environmental Design curriculum for both Tama Art University and the ArtCenter College of Design.
