Join Hiromi Paper and Best Made as we explore the world of traditional Japanese paper making. After a brief introduction on Japanese papermaking, you’ll dip into the papermaking craft with a hands-on learning experience guided by Hiromi Paper staff. All participants will make their own 4″ x 6″ Japanese papers using a postcard size suketa (paper making mould). All materials will be supplied and participants will be able to keep their sheets of paper.
Hiromi Paper, Inc. is devoted to cultivating a strong rapport between Japanese papermakers, printers, artists, conservators, designers and bookbinders, while also developing new directions and a deeper understanding of Japanese papers, or washi. Hiromi Paper works with paper mills throughout Japan, and has become the primary resource for specialty art papers, as well as papers for conservation, decoration, stationery, origami, and anything else you can imagine.
