Japanese Adult Conversation Class – Spring 2018

This is a course for adults who want to learn a wide variety of basic expressions in Japanese. The course introduces basic Japanese sentence structures, conversations, vocabulary and cultural findings. There is no prerequisite for this course, however some knowledge in Japanese language and culture is a plus. We will also practice hiragana, katakana and basic kanji writings. There will be a field trip to San Fernando Valley Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.
* This class is for 18 years old and over.
Some topics to be covered: Basic greetings, introducing themselves, ordering food, asking directions, numbers, etc.
– Japanese as a language variety (standard and non-standard varieties)
– verbs, adjectives and adverbs
Schedule: 9 sessions on following Saturdays

Reviews and warm-up session (aka donuts social) 10AM – 10:15AM
Class: 10:15AM – 12:30PM (one break from 11:20AM – 11:30AM)
