Major League Eating’s top competitive eaters will challenge themselves once more to devour as many Day-Lee Pride gyoza (Japanese dumplings) as possible in 10 minutes at the 13th Annual Day-Lee Foods World Gyoza Eating Championship. Part of Nisei Week.

Joey Chestnut still holds the current world record in the discipline, which he set in 2014 eating 384 Day-Lee Foods Gyoza in 10 minutes. Will this be the year that the world record is finally broken? See for yourself in Little Tokyo!
The main event will commence at 3:00 PM following the Little Tokyo Eating Championship amateur contest at 2:00 PM, the Crazy Cuizine Ninin Baori contest at 2:15 PM, and the LAPD vs. LAFD Gyoza Showdown at 2:30 PM.
FREE ADMISSION! Limited seating and ample standing room will be available.
The Day-Lee Foods World Gyoza Eating Championship will take place during the Nisei Week Plaza Fest at the JACCC. The Plaza Fest will include food and vendor booths, post-contest entertainment, and the return of the Nisei Week Beer Garden.

The Day-Lee Foods World Gyoza Eating Championship is the premiere competitive eating event on the West Coast and is notorious for hosting the world’s top competitive eaters. The showdown challenges eaters to devour as many Day-Lee Pride gyoza as possible in 10 minutes. Competitors will be vying for a $6,000 cash purse.
Part of the 79th Annual Los Angeles Nisei Week Japanese Festival, the Day-Lee Foods World Gyoza Eating Championship is hosted by the Nisei Week Foundation and sanctioned by MLE and the International Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE).
